PSYPACT (Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) is an interstate agreement designed to increase access to psychological services across state lines. It allows licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology and temporary in-person services in participating states without needing multiple state licenses.
- Telepsychology Services: Licensed psychologists with an APIT (Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology) credential can offer virtual therapy to clients in PSYPACT states.
- Temporary In-Person Services: Psychologists with a TAP (Temporary Authorization to Practice) credential can practice in another PSYPACT state for up to 30 days per year.
- Expands Access to Care – Clients can receive therapy from qualified psychologists, even across state lines.
- Increases Provider Flexibility Psychologists can reach more clients without extra licensing hurdles.
- Supports Continuity of Care – Patients who move or travel can still see their trusted psychologist.
PSYPACT is growing, with many states currently participating. Check the official PSYPACT map for the latest updates.
